Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not fully accessible for the following reasons:

  1. Forms
  • Screen reader users are unable to access the date of birth field in the form for creating a new My Registration account. This is being addressed by enabling direct input into the field.
  1. Videos
  • Video content provided by third parties do not include text transcripts or captions.
  1. Documents and downloadable content
  • Some PDFs may not be fully accessible due to missing structure, headings, or tagging. Where possible, we aim to provide content in accessible HTML format. Work is ongoing to improve the accessibility of documents.

At present, no accessibility issues have been identified as imposing a disproportionate burden. This will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Content not within scope of the legislation

The following content may be exempt from accessibility requirements:

  • Documents published before 23 September 2018, unless required for active administrative processes.
  • Pre-recorded media published before 23 September 2020.
  • Third-party content not funded or controlled by the Teaching Council.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared following accessibility testing carried out by IA Labs, using a combination of manual and automated methods across multiple platforms and assistive technologies, including:

  • Windows (JAWS, NVDA)
  • Mac (VoiceOver)
  • iOS and Android accessibility tools

A detailed accessibility audit was conducted to measure compliance against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Issues identified were provided to the development team and are being addressed.

This statement was originally prepared in February 2024 and last reviewed in June 2026.

We are committed to reviewing this statement regularly and at least annually.
