Scoil na Naomh Uilig, Newbridge, was awarded €2,000 as part of the Féilte Bursary Scheme to collaborate with Newbridge Educate Together National School and Mary Immaculate College to support teachers in deepening their professional understanding of playful pedagogies through collaborative inquiry aligned with the Primary Curriculum Framework (2023). Teachers from both schools co-designed, implemented and reflected on playful learning experiences while exploring how children perceive play in the classroom. Supported by Mary Immaculate College, the project aimed to compare children’s perspectives with existing research, leading to actionable insights for practice. It will further enhance teacher confidence, stronger alignment between pedagogy and pupil voice as well as producing creative digital resources for national professional sharing.
