Coláiste Iósaef, Kilmallock was awarded €5,000 to collaborate with Scoil Mocheallóg and Coláiste Íde agus Iósef, to focus on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) implementation within their schools. This project aimed to develop teachers’ understanding and knowledge relating to UDL, as well as providing teaching colleagues with the necessary confidence to implement a range of inclusive practice that the UDL framework caters for within diverse classrooms.
School's reflection
This project has succeeded in many ways but most importantly it has helped to develop professional relationships across three different schools. We came to this project as a diverse group with individual talents and backgrounds. The Féilte Bursary Scheme has provided us with a project focus that has allowed us to showcase our individual strengths and find commonality despite our different teaching contexts. This project fundamentally believes in distributed leadership, and this is an area that we would like to develop further.
